Position Summary:
We are looking for a Junior Patent and Design Attorney with a strong technical background to join our intellectual property practice. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of patent and design matters for innovative clients across industries such as mechanics, medical devices, consumer products, software, AI, and energy.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to develop their skills in drafting, prosecution, and strategic IP portfolio management, with exposure to both patents and registered designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Draft and prosecute patent applications in Israel and abroad (including PCT, EPO, and USPTO).
  2. Prepare and file design applications in Israel and globally, including under the Hague System.
  3. Assist in the preparation of responses to office actions and examiner reports in both patents and designs.
  4. Conduct patentability and design novelty assessments, as well as freedom-to-operate (FTO) and due diligence analyses.
  5. Liaise with inventors, engineers, in-house counsel, and designers to accurately capture technical and aesthetic features for protection.
  6. Support litigation, enforcement, and invalidation strategies as needed.
  7. Monitor relevant legal developments in patent and design law and share insights with the team and clients.

Qualifications:

  1. Technical background in engineering, physics, computer science, life sciences, or a related field (B.Sc., M.Sc., or higher preferred).
  2. Registered as a Patent Attorney in Israel or in training.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hebrew.
  4. Excellent drafting and analytical capabilities.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 1–3 years of experience in patent and/or design prosecution (law firm or in-house).
  2. Familiarity with international patent and design systems (PCT, Hague, USPTO, EPO, EUIPO).
  3. Knowledge of industrial design strategy and aesthetics-related protection is an advantage.
  4. Proficiency with IP management tools and systems.
