Our firm represents the former Deputy Director of the Israel Tax Authority, CPA Gidi Bar-Zakay, and a company under his control, which have developed over the years a software with groundbreaking technology that enables, among other things, the identification and tracking of transactions involving digital currencies on the blockchain. The Tax Authority ‘courted’ this technology in order to issue tax assessments related to such transactions and began initiating appropriate procedures with our clients; however, these were unlawfully terminated by the Authority. Following a petition to obtain documents on the matter, which was effectively accepted, a new petition has now been submitted on the substantive issues, requesting the annulment of the flawed administrative decision made by the Tax Authority, which terminated the engagement with our clients.
